Day 1    Moscow

Dinner in the hotel

Arrive in Moscow. Meet with the guide and transfer to the hotel. Check-in.


Day 2    Moscow

Breakfast in the hotel / Free time for lunch / Dinner in the hotel

morning: Moscow city tour. Sightseeing with the guide, main tourist attractions: Red Square with Saint Basil's Cathedral, fortified walls and towers of the Kremlin, Lenin’s Mausoleum, the GUM Department Store, elegant Tverskaya Street, Teatralnaya Square, the Bolshoi Theater, Lubyanka - the headquarters of the former KGB, and Sparrow Hills adjacent to Moscow State University with a spectacular view of the city.

Cathedral of Christ the Savior rebuilt in the 1990s with extensive use of marble and gold. Considered to be the most significant religious structure in Russia - home to the main Orthodox Church ceremonies.

 afternoon: Novodevichy Monastery. Founded in 1524 by Grand Duke Vasily III to celebrate Smolensk's reconquest against the Lithuanians, Novodevichy Monastery is one of the most beautiful sites in Moscow. The Cathedral of Our Lady of Smolensk is the oldest and most important structure of the monastery.


Day 3    Moscow

afternoon: The Moscow Kremlin and Cathedrals. Excursion inside the Kremlin - the center of political, religious and cultural life of Russia. Visit 3 main cathedrals inside the Kremlin territory.

 afternoon: Arbat Street and Moscow Metro. Walk along the famous Moscow pedestrian street, Arbat, frequented by Moscow artists and full of craft shops and clubs of all kinds. Guided tour of Moscow Metro’s most impressive stations representing masterpieces of Soviet design and architecture. 


Day 4    Moscow - Sergiev Posad - Rostov Veliky - Yaroslavl

morning: The Golden Ring - Sergiev Posad and Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius tour. Tour with a guide to the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius in the town of Sergiev Posad (60 km from Moscow) - the spiritual center of Orthodox Russia. The area holds many splendid churches built in the 15th century - masterpieces of Russian Orthodox architecture.

 afternoon: The Golden Ring – Rostov Veliky. Rostov Veliky is an ancient Russian city located on the sacred Nero Lake. The region has been settled by Finno-Ugric peoples as far back as 4000 years ago, now being a small city of 32,000 inhabitants, with historic buildings, the Rostov Kremlin, and authentic Russian architecture. Visit the Rostov Kremlin.

Transfer to Yaroslavl. Check in to the hotel.


Day 5    Yaroslavl - Kostroma - Suzdal

 morning: The Golden Ring - Yaroslavl. Founded on the banks of the Volga River in 1010 by Prince Yaroslavl the Wise, the city is today one of the most visited tourist centers of the Golden Ring circuit. Its historic center is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Guided city tour with visit to the Church of Elijah the Prophet and the Monastery of the Transfiguration.

 afternoon: The Golden Ring – Kostroma. Kostroma is a picturesque ancient city spread out along green banks of the Volga River. Visit to the Ipatievsky Monastery, whose history is deeply linked to the Romanov Tsar family. After the visit, depart for Suzdal. Arrival and overnight at the hotel.


Day 6    Suzdal - Vladimir - Moscow

 morning: The Golden Ring - Suzdal. Suzdal is one of the oldest Russian towns and undoubtedly the sparkling diamond in the Golden Ring. In 12th century Suzdal served as a royal capital when Moscow was merely one of its subordinate settlements and was a major monastic center as well as an important commercial hub for many years. The city is protected by UNESCO and until today has retained its historical appearance and the splendour of a glorious past. During the guided tour you will visit to the Kremlin, the Saviour Monastery of St. Euthymius, Museum of Wooden Architecture, and the Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral.

 afternoon: The Golden Ring – Vladimir. Vladimir was founded in 1108 and became one of the most powerful cities in Russia when Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky moved his capital there from Kyiv in 1169. Thus began Vladimir's Golden Age, when many of the beautifully carved white-stone buildings for which the area is renowned were built. Guided city tour with the visit to the Cathedral of Dormition. After the excursion program transfer to Moscow and check in to the hotel.


Day 7    Moscow - St. Petersburg

 morning: Free time available for self-guided or optional visits.

 afternoon: Transfer to the train station (with an English-speaking assistant). Departure to St. Petersburg by high-speed daytime train (duration ~4 hours). Arrival in St. Petersburg and meet with the guide. Transfer to the hotel and check-in.


Day 8    St. Petersburg

morning: St. Petersburg city tour. Sightseeing with the guide, main tourist attractions: Nevsky Prospect, Kazan Cathedral, the Palace Square and the Winter Palace, the Rostral Columns, the Admiralty and Saint Isaak’s Cathedral and Square.

afternoon: The State Hermitage Museum. Known to be the most complete art collection in the world. Founded by Catherine the Great in 1764 as a court museum, after 3 centuries of patient collection, the Hermitage boasts works from every art period in total of more than 16,000 paintings.


Day 9    St. Petersburg

morning: Pushkin, Tsarskoe Selo, Catherine Palace and Park. The town of Pushkin, which surrounds the Tsarskoe Selo ("Tsar Village" in Russian), is considered Saint Petersburg's most charming suburb. In the course of the guided tour we will visit the halls of the Catherine Palace including the world-famous Amber Room and the immense Catherine Park surrounding the residence. 

afternoon: Peter and Paul Fortress. Peter and Paul Fortress is the oldest landmark in the city - founded by Peter the Great in 1703. Architecturally, it is a fortification masterpiece and the kernel from which St. Petersburg grew into the city it is today. The Tsars of the Russian Imperial Romanov family are buried within a cathedral inside the fortress.


Day 10   St. Petersburg

Free time. Transfer to the airport (with an English-speaking assistant). Departure.

→  2020: While some countries have bilateral agreements in place to allow visa-free travel to Russia for their citizens, most foreign nationals are still required to have an Entry Visa.  You will need to complete the application for a visa through a visa center or consulate in your home country and we will provide support in terms of the required standard "tourist voucher" issued by the authorized Russian host travel agency.  →  2021: The Russian government has announced its plans to implement simplified Electronic Visas for Russia starting Jan. 1, 2021. Foreign citizens of 53 countries will be able to obtain a 16-day, single-entry tourist visa online. 

Caution: The Russian Parliament has yet to approve the law that would put into effect the Electronic Visa program of 2021. While it is likely to pass, the hearing on the law is expected soon, therefore please contact us at to clarify the current status.
